Chevrolet Mi-ray Hybrid Vehicle Awarded at Seoul as Best Concept Car 2011

 Mi-ray-Hybrid-vehicle-best-concept-car-seoulGeneral Motors revealed its hybrid vehicle Chevrolet Mi-ray Concept at the Seoul Motor Show this of year. This concept pays a tribute to a combination between sports car heritage and a modern technology.

This year the Motor Show Organizing Committee asked journalists to vote vehicles in the followed three categories: “Best Concept Car ”, “Best Green Car” and “Best Passenger Car”. Our hybrid vehicle candidate Mi-ray took home the award of “Best Concept Car ”. After the event the president of Korea General Motors, Mike Arcamone said that: “This honour is even more special as it was given to Chevrolet’s first concept car displayed in Korea at the brand’s very first stand at a domestic auto show. It recognizes Chevrolet’s future vision and new ideas. Chevrolet will continue to bring new vehicles with innovative design and technology to Korea.”

Mi-ray hybrid vehicle concept car is powered by a pair of front mounted 15 kilowatt electric motors, connected to a 1,6 kilowatt /hour lithium-ion battery. The electric motors propels the Mi-ray hybrid vehicle at a low speeds. For a boost of power and speed as necessary it has in addition a 1,5 liter turbocharged four cylinder engine. Thought as a hybrid vehicle concept, GM says that Mi-ray “points to the future of Chevrolets around the globe- expressive, youthful and entertaining”.
