Daimler starts the production for next generation Smart Fortwo ED urban electric car. Smart Fortwo ED has a bigger electric motor from EM-motive with a 55kW magneto electric motor, and gets a higher top speed of 75 miles per hour at a range of 90 miles.
The urban electric car Smart Fortwo ED has a new 17.6 kWh lithium-ion battery that can be charged in 7 hours from completely empty at a “household socket or charging station on the electricity system of most countries i.e. overnight.” It also has a 22kWh on board charger that allows a completely empty battery to be charged in less than one hour from a quick charging station.
Smart Fortwo ED urban electric car accelerates powerfully from 0 to 60 km/h in 4.8 seconds and it can sprint from 0 to 100km/h in 11.5 seconds.
