As a general perception the electric vehicles seems to be very expensive.
The German leader in the electric vehicle sector, Karabag GmbH has launched the New 500E with a leasing cost of € 299 per month comparable with any other normal small car. Karabag GmbH has been building and distributing electric vehicles since 2008, with almost 251 registrations per year.
Based on Fiat 500, the Karabag New 500E use highly efficient electric drives with an inexpensive lithium-polymer battery and an optimization of these drives by Linde Material Handling GmbH. Linde is supplying the package consisting of the motor, converter, fan and control unit
The electric vehicle has a top performance of 28kW that can reach speeds of up to 105 km/hour it accelerates from 0 to 50km/h in only 8.5 seconds and keeps a cruising range of 100km/hour.
After the calculations made by Karabag that compares Fiat 500 combustion engines with the electric model New 500E result a difference of maintenance costs in favor of the electric vehicle with about 42 euro. This calculation is based on the monthly leasing fee of € 299 with no other special payments and with a four-year guarantee.
