Royal-Wedding-Lexus-Hybrid-VehicleRoyal Wedding of Albert Prince by Monaco and Ms. Charlene Wittstock showed us, in their tour after ceremony, a unique full hybrid vehicle, a luxury Lexus LS 600h L Landaulet made in only one piece.

With a polycarbonate roof and equipped with Lexus Hybrid Drive, this hybrid vehicle offers the performance and comfort expected from such Royal Wedding.

The concept of remodeling the car was undertaken by Belgian coachbuilders Carat Duchatelet in close collaboration with Lexus engineers from Brussels. They work together almost 2000 hours to complete this jewelry in order to design on computer, to calculate, simulate and to 3-D modeling.

Before re-assembling, painting and polishing was a key phase step. The Royal Wedding LS 600h was finished in an elegant Midnight Blue livery, applied manually.

The transparent roof of this hybrid vehicle was also a challenge. Such a large piece with no reinforcements and no pillars was made like as in the aerospace industry. The roof has been built in France and allows perfect visibility from both inside and outside of this hybrid vehicle.

The final stage of re-assembling and finishing, involved a team of ten people besides Lexus engineers working full time over two week to attend the highest levels of quality and sophistication.

Used for the tour the hybrid vehicle operates in full zero emission mode only under electric motor power.

After the Royal Wedding, the unique Lexus Landaulet will be displayed first at the Media Centre and subsequently at the Oceanographic Museum, where visitors will be able to view a remarkable reminder of an exceptional occasion.
