In collaboration with partner Soprema, UNI-SOLAR photovoltaics (PV) cover the rooftop of the new headquarters for luxury cosmetic brand Sisely.

Soprema created the modified bitumen roofing material for the panels, which United Solar then intergrated its thin-film Photovoltaic laminates into. The solar panels, meet France’s Building Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV) requirements, which allow them to qualify for higher feed-in tariffs.

The entire installation covers six buildings totaling 45,000 square meters (485,000 square feet) and 35,000 square meters (377,000 square feet) and will create 848 kilowatts of green energy (enough to power 181 homes).

“United Solar is proud to have worked with multiple companies to support Sisley in its endeavor to add more solar power in the city of Paris,” said Mark Morelli, President and CEO of United Solar’s parent company, Energy Conversion Devices.

Sisley is a French brand and one of the world leaders in luxury cosmentics and boasts one of the strongest growth rates in the industry. It is controls the major part of its distribution through a network of about 30 subsidiaries, with over 80 percent of its revenue generated from exports. Sisley made the decision to install solar panel because being green is important to their image and part of their social and environmental responsibility program, SER.

By using this rooftop photovoltaics Sisley will drastically lower the carbon footprint.
